Orajel Mouth Gel

Out of all the products we tested, this contained the highest dosage of local anaesthetic, and is therefore suited to the most painful ulcers. It’s needs to be applied carefully, and can be used 4 times a day for 4 days.

It also contains eugenol, another common material used by dentist to soothe pain.

Orajel moistens on contact and protects dry mouth tissue, helping to promote healing. Patients tend to like its fruity flavour, but it’s not appropriate for use for under 12s.
