The Marvis toothpaste collection features a range of 10 original and unusual flavours, meaning there’s something for every taste. Importantly they all contain fluoride, which as a dentist, I am happy about for its anti-decay properties.
I can’t stress enough how important it is to brush twice daily- but even I can admit, the routine can be mundane. Marvis toothpastes with their distinct and unusual flavours, add a fun element to a necessary routine. The flavours are distinct yet fresh, and the packaging (with optional matching holders) looks luxurious.
Not all of the flavours were to my taste (not a big fan of licorice aniseed flavours), but they leave your mouth feeling fresh and clean. My personal favourite is the aquatic mint, which was not overly minty, but left a lingering pleasant aftertaste.
They are a bit more expensive, but if you’re looking for a chic addition to your oral care routine, give Marvis toothpaste a try. They are sure to have a flavour to suit you, and your bathroom decor.

Marvis is a well-known Italian brand, with all its toothpastes made in Florence. They’re recognised for vibrant packaging and unique flavours like Jasmine Mint, Amarelli Licorice, and Ginger Mint. Marvis aims to elevate the ritual of daily brushing with their pleasant flavours. As their product manager Laura Cardelli describes, Marvis toothpastes are “a scent for the mouth, and a stylish icon for the eyes.”
Testing Marvis at home, I could see why it’s positioned as a luxury brand. The packaging is chic, with colours to match any bathroom style. The flavours are certainly a highlight, from classic mints like Aquatic Mint (their best-seller and my personal favourite) to more unique options like Orange Blossom and Dreamy Osmanthus. Each flavour delivers a refreshing taste, with minty options providing long-lasting freshness and more unusual ones like Cinnamon and Licorice offering a unique twist that people either love…or not- depending on your taste.
Marvis has a slightly thicker, creamier texture than typical toothpaste. It doesn’t foam excessively but feels smooth and spreads well, giving a satisfying clean with just a small amount. All Marvis toothpastes contain sodium fluoride, which is great for cavity prevention and makes them suitable for daily use. What about green credentials?
Marvis products are vegan and cruelty-free, without any animal ingredients or animal testing—a good choice for ethically-minded consumers. A little disappointingly however, the packaging, though it has the look of vintage aluminium, is actually matte-coated plastic and not easily recyclable.
For those new to Marvis, trial sizes are available for their main mint flavours in 25ml tubes, which I found ideal for sampling before choosing a favourite. Testing Marvis made brushing feel less like a chore and more like an enjoyable ritual, combining Italian design, bold flavours, and a touch of luxury.
Marvis Toothpaste Review: Cleaning Performance 7/10
I tested Marvis toothpaste twice daily, brushing with an electric toothbrush, and using plaque disclosing tablets to assess its effectiveness.
I was impressed by the thorough clean it provided, and how it left my teeth feeling smooth and polished. Marvis toothpastes have a luxurious feel with its dense and creamy texture. It isn’t overly foamy, but lathered well, leaving a lingering freshness. I appreciated the range of so many unique flavours make it a fun alternative to standard toothpaste.
However clean my mouth felt, to really assess it’s cleaning performance, I analysed it’s active ingredients.
Importantly, all Marvis toothpastes contain sodium fluoride at a concentration of 1000ppm. While this is lower than the dentist-recommended 1450ppm for adults, it still provides anti-cavity protection and helps reduce plaque. It’s a suitable daily toothpaste option, particularly for those who dislike standard minty flavours. At 1000ppm Marvis toothpastes are safe for use for children also.

All Marvis toothpastes also include sodium lauryl sulphate (SLS), a common ingredient that creates foam and enhances the fresh, clean feeling. However, SLS can be an irritant for some people, causing sensitivity or a burning sensation. If you experience this, Marvis toothpaste may not be suitable for you. The core cleaning agents in Marvis include hydrated silica for gentle stain removal, calcium carbonate as a mild abrasive, and xylitol, with anti-bacterial benefits. Overall, I’m impressed with the cleaning properties of Marvis toothpastes. Remember though, its lower fluoride content and inclusion of SLS may not suit everyone.

This is where Marvis toothpastes really shine. Their creative range injected some fun into my daily brushing routine, and my husband and children have been excited to try each new flavour.
Marvis toothpastes offer an impressive array of flavours across their four main collections: Classic, Care, Blended, and Limited Edition. The flavours are unusual and distinctive, making brushing feel indulgent and fresh. Each toothpaste has a creamy, smooth texture and with no artificial colours or preservatives.
All the flavours have a minty base, and a refreshing aftertaste without being overpowering. While the flavours and textures are enjoyable, some of the bolder varieties like Licorice and Rhubarb may not be to everyone’s taste.

Most of the range comes in 85ml full-size and convenient 25ml travel-size tubes, with the Blended Collection, Limited Editions, and Sensitive toothpaste offered in slightly smaller 75ml tubes. I particularly like the option to purchase the seven classic flavours in 25ml trial tubes, which makes it easy to sample each before settling on a favourite.
Despite the chic design, the packaging has some sustainability drawbacks. The outer cardboard pack (C PAP 81), plastic cap (PP 5), and aluminium seal (C/ALU 90) are all fully recyclable. However, the toothpaste tubes, which are designed to resemble aluminium, are actually made from plastic (C/LDPE 90) with a matte coating. This gives the tubes a premium look but unfortunately makes them not widely recyclable, which feels like a missed opportunity for the brand. While the overall aesthetic is appealing, the choice of material for the tubes seems a bit short-sighted given the increasing focus on sustainability in consumer products.
