Our Core Mission & Your Trust

The mission of My Private Dentist is to provide you with the most accurate, evidence-based, and clinically sound advice on dental health and products. This mission is led by our practicing, GDC-registered dentists who bring decades of real-world patient experience to every article we publish.

Your trust is our most important asset. To maintain this trust, we believe in being completely transparent about how we fund the extensive research, hands-on testing, and expert analysis that goes into our work. This page discloses our financial relationships with brands and our unwavering commitment to editorial integrity.

How We Fund Our Work

Our content is free for you to read, but it is not free to create. To operate this platform, we generate revenue in two primary ways:

1. Affiliate Links & Commissions

Many of our articles contain “affiliate links.” This means that if you click on a link to a product or service and subsequently make a purchase, we may receive a small commission from the retailer.

  • This comes at absolutely no extra cost to you. The price you pay is the same whether you use our link or go directly to the vendor’s site.
  • These commissions help us pay for web hosting, purchase products for testing, and compensate our team of expert writers and reviewers.
  • My Private Dentist is a proud participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com, Amazon.co.uk, and other regional Amazon sites. We may also participate in other, similar affiliate programs from various retailers.

An affiliate link is simply a tool that allows a retailer to know that you came from our website. Its presence does not, in any way, influence which products we recommend or the conclusions of our reviews.

2. Sponsored Content & Featured Placements

As our platform has grown in authority, some brands may reach out to us directly. In some of our “round-up” or “best of” articles, a brand may pay a fee to have their product evaluated for inclusion.

We want to be unequivocally clear about how this works:

  • A fee guarantees an evaluation, not a favorable review. A brand cannot pay for a positive ranking, a higher score, or a specific verdict. They are paying to have their product expedited through our rigorous 4-Phase Validation Methodology.
  • Our clinical opinion is never for sale. If a sponsored product does not meet our high, evidence-based standards, it will not receive a positive recommendation.
  • All sponsored placements are clearly and conspicuously marked. You will see a Sponsored or Featured Partner label directly associated with any product where a financial relationship of this nature exists. You will always know the difference.

Our Unwavering Commitment to Editorial Independence

The foundation of the Clarity Accord is a strict firewall between our revenue-generating activities and our editorial process.

  • Product selection for our reviews is driven by our editorial team, based on clinical relevance, market data, and reader requestsโ€”not by commercial incentives.
  • All products, whether purchased by us or submitted by a brand, are subjected to the exact same impartial, hands-on testing protocol.
  • Our final review scores, recommendations, and “best of” picks are determined solely by our clinical panel’s independent analysis and debate. No one outside of our editorial team has any influence on the outcome.

Thank you for taking the time to understand our process. Your support allows us to continue our mission of providing clear, honest, and expert-driven advice in the world of dental health.

If you have any questions about this disclosure or our processes, please do not hesitate to contact us.
